Most "baby oil" is mineral oil. This isn't.
Pick up the best-known baby oil brands on a Ghanaian shelf and read the label: mineral oil — a clear, cheap by-product of petroleum refining, thinned out and usually perfumed.
To be fair to it: mineral oil isn't dangerous, and it's genuinely good at one thing — it forms a seal on the skin that slows water loss. But that's all it does. No fatty acids, no vitamins, nothing to give. It sits on top of your baby's skin like cling film.
